Frequently asked questions

If you're new to vinyl production, here's a quick overview:

  1. Mastering: Your tracks need to be mastered specifically for vinyl to optimize audio quality.
  2. Lacquer Cutting: We create master discs (lacquers) for each side of your record.
  3. Plating: Your lacquers are used to create metal stampers.
  4. Test Pressings: We press a few records for quality control and send them to you for approval.
  5. Artwork: While we handle the audio, you prepare the art for your record's packaging.
  6. Production: Once you approve everything, we press, pack & ship your records.

Pressing price includes:

  • Mastering (lacquer cutting)
  • Stamper
  • 5 Test Pressings
  • Labels 
  • Records
  • Plain White Paper Sleeves

We send you five test pressings to review for consistency and quality control before full production begins. If you need more than five, just let us know (extra charges apply).

Our minimum is 300 units. If ordering multiple vinyl colors, each color has a minimum of 300 units.  Any orders of 500 and up receive full use of our Listening Space to host an event or Listening Party.

Absolutely! You can choose to print yourself or we can manage it entirely for a seamless experience. We provide guidance from design to delivery, though a 30% upcharge applies for our comprehensive service. 

Yes, if your music was already mastered according to RIAA standards for vinyl, no additional sound adjustments are necessary.

It varies by record size and speed:

  • 7” records: Up to 3 minutes per side at 45rpm, or 6 minutes at 33rpm.
  • 12” records: Up to 18 minutes per side at 33rpm, or 9 minutes at 45rpm.
  • Exceeding these limits may affect sound quality and incur additional charges.

Yes, we offer both standard black and custom color vinyl. Note that color vinyl may slightly elevate the noise level compared to black vinyl.

Ensure you own or have licensed all audio and samples before submission. We require a signed copyright compliance form to proceed with your order.

You need a mechanical license for cover songs and both master and mechanical licenses for samples. We can guide you on how to obtain those.

We accept various formats, from analog tapes to high-resolution digital files. Just send what you have!

Masters should be supplied in the following formats:

  • Audio CD-R master in Redbook Standard CD Format
  • WAV/AIFF files (we accept 16-bit or 24-bit WAV or AIFF files with a sampling rate of either 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz or 96kHz).
  • 1/4″ Analog Tape (sequenced and including reference tones)

WAV/AIFF files should be clearly labeled and saved on a data CD-R, DVD-R or a USB flash drive formatted to FAT32, exFAT or NTFS.
